WHAT IS ALTERNATIVE RECYCLING?
Alternative Recycling is the practice of recycling, reducing and reusing consumer products not processed by traditional programs. With advancements in technology, materials once thought of as strictly refuse can now be processed for future use or harvested for raw materials. Evolution Recycling is the first company to offer a single stream system capable of managing typical waste items like cardboard and glass, but also, alternative materials such as ink/toner cartridges and Polysterene (PS #6).
Below is an abbreviated list of some of the items designated as universal, alternative waste:

In many cases the materials received through our programs are classified as toxic, hazardous or universal waste. Styrofoam, for instance, never decomposes and represents nearly 30% of the landfill space used in landfills across America. Recycling high volume, alternative materials like Styrofoam, from your wastestream is a win-win because it removes toxic substances from local landfills and cuts your organization's disposal costs by 30 - 60%.
SERVICES
Evolution Recycling is capable of providing a single stream waste disposal service with scheduled picked ups, storage containers and public drop off sites. In addition to alternative materials, such as ink/toner cartridges and Polystyrene (PS #6), Evolution can also process all traditional recyclables including glass, aluminum and cardboard. We will also provide your organization with value added services such as waste auditing and environmental certification at no additional cost.
Option One: Local Drop-Off
A participating organization or corporation can choose to forward the recyclable material via mail or freight carrier depending upon size and volume. Evolution Recycling will provide a responsible means of disposing these materials while incurring no transportation costs.
Option Two: Local Pickup
A participating organization/corporation can choose to have their inventory picked up from a centralized location at their expense. Evolution Recycling requires that a minimum volume be housed on site prior to ordering a delivery and will forward all shipping expenses to the client at a rate 30 – 50% lower than the leading waste disposal provider. Fees may vary depending upon volume and location.
Please note: Evolution Recycling can provide its transportation and densification service at no cost to a participating organization in the event they recycle several materials through our system including, but not limited to, precious metals, ink cartridges & cellophane wrapping. Transportation costs can be offset by maximizing EPS loads per truck while including other recyclable materials that obtain greater values per volume due to weight and density.
Option Three: Return By Mail
Much of the materials accepted by Evolution Recycling, such as ink/toner cartridges, cell phones, Polystyrene (PS #6), etc. can be recycled through the mail. Contact Us and we can send you a Recycling Package that allows you to participate in our programs from satellite locations across the continent.
Please note: All Polystyrene (PS #6) mailed to our
facilities will be the sole expense of the sender.
